On Sunday, the New York Times featured Moore Foundation grantee David Lang's recent month-long exploration of the Steamer Tahoe, a 52-meter long ship that wrecked in Lake Tahoe in 1940.

Lang and Eric Stackpole are co-founders of OpenROV, a startup based in Berkeley, CA that builds underwater drone kits for citizen scientists.

OpenROV's latest submarine, which will be available this fall, will travel at four knots underwater and have a high-resolution camera and lights as bright as car headlights.

Read the full article here, and watch a BBC News video of the OpenROV exploring the shipwreck here.
