Care team communication in acute care settings is fragmented, inefficient and difficult. Clinicians have to communicate over multiple platforms from email to text, even the old school pager. This often means tracking down key inpatient providers to gather information and put the pieces of the puzzle together to deliver the best care to patients. To help address this common challenge, Brigham and Women's Hospital created a microblog platform in six critical care, oncology and general medicine areas.

Dr. Anuj Dalal recently shared the outcomes of this at the American Medical Informatics Association annual symposium. You can read more about it in a piece from Neil Versel of MedCityNews here.

You can also read more about Brigham and Women's work in improving critical care, and the foundation's patient care program work in this area, here.
