In Bogotá on August 17th--as the peace negotiations between the Colombian Government and the FARC neared fruition--representatives of environmental non-profits, government institutions and the private sector gathered for a Moore-funded discussion on peace and the environment in Colombia. 

The Colombian Amazon stretches across almost half of the country, and has long been a priority region for the foundation's Andes-Amazon Initiative. Funding has supported the creation and consolidation of protected areas, and recognition and management of indigenous land.
