The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation has provided $1 million to PBS NewsHour to support science coverage across all platforms – broadcast, online and social media. This grant will allow PBS NewsHour to educate, inspire and engage with audiences about applied science and basic science research on topics including biology, space, physics and more. It will also allow PBS to test new ways of expanding the reach of its science storytelling online and on social media.

The foundation’s Science Program believes in the inherent value of science and treasures the child-like sense of wonder that comes from finding out how the world works. By supporting PBS NewsHour, the foundation hopes that audiences will find science news and information even more accessible.
