The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) reports that Identidad Madidi, the groundbreaking Bolivian scientific expedition, has confirmed the 1,000th bird species in Madidi National Park. The park is one of the world’s most biodiverse, and a mecca of bird life.
The the dusky-tailed flatbill (Ramphotrigon fuscicauda) is the 1,000th bird species recorded in the area, and was discovered at the sixth site of the two-year expedition into the park.
