National Geographic has just published, with support from the Moore Foundation, an Amazon-themed map and supplement online and in the November magazine.
The first comprehensive map of the Amazon Basin in decades, the supplement captures the natural and social history of the region, while also highlighting the advantages of integrated planning and management of the Amazon as a whole system, across geopolitical boundaries. By incorporating knowledge and data gathered by several of our grantees, the map illustrates not only the many conservation gains that grantees have delivered, but also the Amazon’s significance for human wellbeing, for the function of the Earth’s climate and for the region’s high levels of biodiversity—as well as current and emerging threats to those irreplaceable values.

In addition, Moore funding supported the development of a suite of online educational materials for teachers and learners of all ages that you can find here.
