Palo Alto, Calif. – The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation appointed Pamela Hudson as chief administrative officer. Hudson will lead human resources, information technology, grants administration and finance for the $6.5 billion private foundation.
“With a deep understanding of the interplay between people, processes and technology, Pamela’s ability to improve systems and elevate organizational performance will be of great value to our team,” said foundation president, Harvey V. Fineberg, M.D., Ph.D. “She brings a keen ability to understand the needs of multiple stakeholders and drive toward solutions that benefit all parties.”
Most recently, Hudson led the effort to open the new UCSF Mission Bay Hospitals, including the UCSF Betty Irene Moore Women’s Hospital. Focused on both operational and people readiness, her responsibilities included the recruitment and training of more than 3,000 FTEs; coordination with regulatory agencies to secure licensure; and planning the move of 131 patients from the Parnassus Hospital on Super Bowl Sunday.
She also successfully oversaw large-scale clinical systems implementations at UCSF, Kaiser Permanente, and in the United Kingdom. Responsible for both the design and implementation of these IT systems, she brings a wealth of knowledge about the process improvements and change management required to take full advantage of technology solutions.
“Serendipity brought me to the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation,” said Hudson. “I am truly humbled by the magnitude of impact that the foundation can make and look forward to working with my peers so that the foundation continues to meet its full potential.”
Hudson assumes her post July 6, 2015 and reports directly to Dr. Fineberg.
