This grant, the first of several grants, intends to create an innovative nursing education model leading to new leaders in healthcare and allows UC Davis to launch the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. During the two year grant term, UC Davis will recruit and hire key personnel, faculty and staff; develop curriculum; market the program; and build its development capabilities to raise additional funds to support the school. Pending approvals from the University’s Academic Senate, the UC Board of Regents, the Board of Registered Nursing, the California Postsecondary Education Commission and other entities, UC Davis anticipates admitting its first students in masters and doctorate programs to the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing in the fall of 2008.
