Foundation president, Harvey Fineberg, and chairman emeritus and co-founder, Gordon Moore, discuss the Statement of Founders’ Intent with staff.
Based in Washington, D.C., EcoAdapt delivers a new framework for climate adaptation that ensures the future of natural and built environmental systems through improved planning and management practices. The organization helps governments, organizations and individuals figure out how to do their work with the least impact in the face of climate change.
EcoAdapt’s team generates new strategies by assessing adaptation activities, developing case studies and synthesizing information to further the field. Its virtual library is a managed clearinghouse of documents including articles, books, videos and action plans related to climate change adaptation. Training programs strengthen the ability of people working on the ground to share knowledge and create local plans that respond to climate change threats. EcoAdapt also acts as an adviser for groups that need additional capacity to execute local projects, building networks of projects and practitioners who have created and implemented effective climate adaptation efforts.
