Founded in 1905, the Dignity Health Saint Francis Memorial Hospital is a fully accredited community-based hospital. Located in the Nob Hill neighborhood in San Francisco, the 288-bed hospital is home to the Bothin Burn Center, the Center for Sports Medicine, the Saint Francis Orthopedic Institute and the Phoebe Cowles Center for Comprehensive Pain Treatment. Saint Francis also specializes in occupational health and emergency medicine. The hospital was recently recognized by Healthgrades for excellence in orthopedics, is a Certified Stroke Center and is accredited in adult acute inpatient rehabilitation and adult inpatient stroke specialty rehabilitation.
The Saint Francis Foundation was founded in 1979 to provide philanthropic support to Saint Francis Memorial Hospital and the community the hospital serves. The foundation finances special projects, new programs, research, training and education and the purchase of new equipment. It manages approximately $93 million in assets pledged to both the foundation and the hospital, representing more than 4,000 donors.
