ClimateWorks Foundation, established in 2008, is a nongovernmental organization that works globally, collaborating with funders, regional and research partners and other climate leaders to strengthen philanthropy’s response to climate change. The San Francisco-based organization’s theory of change is predicated on shaping policy and markets to create a feedback loop that amplifies philanthropic impact.

The organization is made up of a team of researchers, strategists, collaborators and grantmakers who are committed to climate action and believe in the power of collective philanthropy. The organization creates global emission reduction strategies, coordinates philanthropic funding and directly supports organizations addressing climate change.

ClimateWorks conducts its work through an international network of affiliated organizations and by supporting smart policies within the economic sectors and geographic regions that have the greatest potential for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, including India and China.
