Foundation president, Harvey Fineberg, and chairman emeritus and co-founder, Gordon Moore, discuss the Statement of Founders’ Intent with staff.
The Society of Critical Care Medicine is a global membership organization dedicated to promoting excellence and consistency in the practice of critical care. Its vision is to ensure that the right care is delivered at the right moment by an integrated team of trained critical care specialists to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The society offers clinical training, publications, networking, advocacy and quality improvement support to more than 16,000 clinician members from over 100 countries.
Members stay informed through a bimonthly news magazine, alerts, podcasts, data reports, a community of practice network and the society’s two peer-reviewed journals, Critical Care Medicine and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Educational products and events equip practitioners to meet clinical requirements and include an annual conference, board exam review, fundamentals training, continuing education courses and clinical guidelines. Critical care quality improvements and research projects range from a campaign to promote early identification and treatment of severe sepsis and septic shock to the dissemination of guidelines to reduce the harmful effects of pain, agitation and delirium in the ICU.
