Based in Palo Alto, California, the Institute for the Future is an independent, nonprofit research organization designed to help organizations—primarily Fortune 500 companies—plan for the long-term future. The institute was founded in 1968 with a grant from the Ford Foundation to take leading-edge research methodologies into the public and business sectors.
Core research staff and creative designers work together to provide practical foresight for a world undergoing rapid change.
