Founded in 1986, MRAG Americas is an independent consulting business dedicated to promoting responsible, rational and sustainable utilization of aquatic resources. With offices in Florida, Massachusetts and Alaska, its team of scientists and specialists have expertise in fisheries and aquatic resource science, management and monitoring; fisheries observer programs; ecosystem and protected area management; government liaison and relations; stakeholder engagement and outreach; and international conservation and management agreements.

MRAG America partners with government agencies in the United States and around the world, nongovernmental organizations and a range of private-sector companies on a variety of projects. Its services include resource management, information technology, project services, monitoring control and surveillance, seafood traceability and education, outreach and training.

Examples of MRAG’s work range from stock assessment reviews for Northeast groundfish fisheries and management reviews for the red snapper fisheries in the Gulf of Mexico to the assessment of fisheries impacts on Steller sea lion populations.
