SK Partners is a consulting group located in Menlo Park, California, that specializes in the design of behavioral measurement systems, behavioral research and evaluation. The firm focuses on measuring individual and group learning through integrated cognitive and skill assessments. Evaluation designs are typically made up of randomized trials combined with qualitative analysis from interview and observational data.

With support from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, SK Partners is undertaking a multi-year project to develop an evaluation framework for the informal science education field. The project will create resources to improve program implementation and offer instruments and designs to enhance evaluation capacity. It will also help the philanthropic community make evidence-based decisions regarding informal science portfolio investments. The framework is informed by a comprehensive review of summative evaluation literature, interviews, case studies and pilot testing. Training and education will help informal science education practitioners learn how to deploy the framework and adapt it to the specifics of their programs.
