LDOS (Loh Down on Science) Media Lab is a nonprofit that produces the daily radio science minute and other innovative approaches to science education. Co-founded in 2005 by the California Institute of Technology and the Pasadena local public radio station KPCC, the organization works to increase public awareness of exciting scientific research and discoveries.
The radio show is hosted by Sandra Tsing Loh, a Caltech physics graduate and noted radio performer and commentator. The program is syndicated on more than 140 stations in 40 countries and has a weekly audience of 4 million listeners. Show topics range from efforts to build a better hairbrush and the future of the universe to helping kids understand negative numbers.
