Founded in 1976, Tides has worked with over 15,000 innovative partners to accelerate toward a world of shared prosperity and social justice. These partners include foundations, donors, corporations, social investors, nonprofit organizations, government institutions, community organizations, activists and social entrepreneurs.
With offices in San Francisco and New York, Tides’ services include charitable giving, grantmaking and advising; fiscal sponsorship and management services for social ventures; collaborative workspaces for social ventures; social impact consulting; impact investing; and Tides Innovation Lab. Tides has fiscally sponsored more than 800 nonprofit projects and has helped launch a number of important organizations such as Conservation International, Environmental Working Group, the Garden Conservancy, The Story of Stuff and the League of Young Voters Education Fund. The organization also operates the Thoreau Centers for Sustainability, green nonprofit centers that house more than 80 nonprofit organizations in San Francisco and New York.
Our work with Tides ranges from support of the Maker Education Initiative for science and engineering learning to habitat protection in Alaska through the Rivers without Borders Project.
