Tufts University

Tufts University is a private research institution with three Massachusetts campuses in Medford/Somerville, Grafton and Boston and one in Talloires, France. The university enjoys a global reputation for academic excellence and for the preparation of students as leaders in a wide range of professions.

Established in 1852, Tufts has over 9,200 students and almost 1,500 faculty, and offers a blend of both a research university and a liberal arts college. Its mission is “to be an innovative university of creative scholars across a broad range of schools who have a profound impact on one another and the world.”

The university is organized into ten schools including two undergraduate schools (School of the Arts and Science and the School of Engineering) and eight graduate divisions. Among its schools is the country’s oldest graduate school of international relations, The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. Professional schools include those in medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine. Tufts also offers certificate programs, online courses and continuing education opportunities.
