Foundation president, Harvey Fineberg, and chairman emeritus and co-founder, Gordon Moore, discuss the Statement of Founders’ Intent with staff.
Founded in 1933, Monmouth University is located along New Jersey’s northern coastline in West Long Branch in close proximity to both New York City and Philadelphia. Monmouth’s commitment to transformative learning is based on three principles: rigorous academic experience built on a strong foundation in the liberal arts; learning experiences that are both immersive and that extend beyond the classroom; and preparation for life after the university.
The private university enrolls over 6,300 undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of liberal arts, science and professional programs. Career support for students, from undergraduate research opportunities to graduate faculty mentorship, is embedded in the curriculum and tailored to fit individual objectives.
Monmouth is also home to five centers that offer students valuable hands-on experience outside the classroom and the chance to work directly with influential leaders. The Center for the Arts, Monmouth University Polling Institute, Kislak Real Estate Institute, Institute for Global Understanding and the Urban Coast Institute are all located on the Monmouth campus.
