Foundation president, Harvey Fineberg, and chairman emeritus and co-founder, Gordon Moore, discuss the Statement of Founders’ Intent with staff.
Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Visiting Nurse Health Services is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people manage their health and recover from illness in the comfort of their own home. The organization’s nurses, therapists and other professionals give patients quality one-on-one care, helping them achieve the best possible outcomes in their homes, whether they are recovering from a surgery or acute illness or managing a long-term chronic condition.
Founded in 1948, the organization provides quality home health care in Atlanta and the surrounding 26-county metropolitan area. Its long-term care program helps senior adults and the disabled remain safely and comfortably in their homes. Visiting Nurse provides respite care to help ease the stress of caring for someone with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other forms of dementia. Its hospice services provide compassionate and caring end-of-life palliative care to patients at home and at the Hospice Atlanta Center.
As a member of the Visiting Nurse Associations of America, Visiting Nurse abides by the standards of conduct for mission-driven home health, hospice and palliative care agencies. The organization also partners with the United Way and We Honor Veterans.
