Established in 1965 by Royal Charter, the University of Kent is a public research university based in Kent, United Kingdom. The university’s main campus is located north of Canterbury and situated on 300 acres of park land. Additional sites are in Medway and Tonbridge. Known as “the United Kingdom’s European university,” Kent has postgraduate centers in Brussels, Athens and Paris, as well as long-standing partnerships with over 100 universities in mainland Europe.  

The student body consists of more than 19,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students. The university is divided into 18 schools and three academic centers under three faculties—humanities, sciences and social sciences. Kent is ranked 17th in the United Kingdom for research intensity and has 40 specialist research centers spanning the sciences, technology, medical studies, the social sciences, arts and humanities.
