Located in Rehovot, Israel, just south of Tel Aviv, the Weizmann Institute of Science is one of the world’s leading multidisciplinary basic research institutions in the natural and exact sciences. It is named after Dr. Chaim Weizmann, the first president of Israel and founder of the institute.
The institute is comprised of 250 experimental and theoretical research groups across five faculties—biology, biochemistry, chemistry, mathematics and computer science and physics. Graduate studies at the institute are conducted through the Feinberg Graduate School, which offers master’s and doctorate degrees in life sciences, chemical sciences, mathematics and computer science and physics. The institute also awards master’s degrees in science education through the Rothschild-Weizmann Program for Excellence in Science Teaching.
The Davidson Institute of Science Education, the educational arm of the Weizmann Institute, trains thousands of science and math teachers, runs internationally competitive summer science camps and tournaments, and offers a wide array of programming for student and the public including the Clore Garden of Science.
