Foundation president, Harvey Fineberg, and chairman emeritus and co-founder, Gordon Moore, discuss the Statement of Founders’ Intent with staff.
The University of Arkansas System is comprised of six universities, five two-year colleges and seven additional divisions and units. The flagship University of Arkansas is a land grant institution located in Fayetteville overlooking the Ozark mountains. More than 26,000 students from all 50 states and more than 120 countries are enrolled in one of 210 academic programs across 10 colleges and schools. Six broad research categories frame the work of 50 university research centers that include health; nanotechnology; energy and environment; art, architecture and humanities; food safety; and supply chain, retail and transportation. Research activity has led to the development of more efficient solar cells, improved biosensors and new manufacturing materials like Teflon.
The University of Arkansas Board of Trustees is a ten-member board that governs the operations of the University of Arkansas system. Work is organized into committees that include agriculture, building and grounds, audit and fiscal responsibility, joint hospital, two-year college and technical schools, athletics and distance education and technology.
