Foundation president, Harvey Fineberg, and chairman emeritus and co-founder, Gordon Moore, discuss the Statement of Founders’ Intent with staff.
Formed in 2008 with a merger with the National Brain Tumor Foundation, the National Brain Tumor Society is committed to improving the lives of all those affected by brain tumors through funding, research collaborations and a focused public policy agenda. Headquartered in Newton, Massachusetts, the society supports the diverse needs of patients by moving research toward new treatments, fighting for policies that will improve the lives of all patients and providing important and helpful information and resources.
From basic science to clinical trial designs, the society partners with research, public policy and clinical care leaders to advance the understanding of brain tumors, expand the availability of new treatments and drive the discovery of a cure. The society has awarded more than $30 million across almost 250 grants to both academic and industry researchers. One-third of its research budget is dedicated to pediatric-specific initiatives. The organization also sponsors an annual scientific summit which brings together the leaders in all aspects of the brain tumor field.
