Resources for the Future, based in Washington, D.C., is an independent, nonpartisan organization that conducts rigorous economic research and analysis, allowing leaders to make more sound decisions and craft smarter policies about natural resources and the environment.

Founded in 1952, the think tank is the first of its kind devoted exclusively to natural resource and environmental issues and has helped pioneer the field of environmental and natural resource economics.  The organization has brought together the world’s largest community of economists and renowned experts focused on environmental, natural resource and energy issues to develop solutions that balance the need for both economic growth and environmental stewardship.

Resources for the Future’s Center for Energy and Climate Economics, Center for the Management of Ecological Wealth and Forest Economics and Policy Program focus on work in key areas. The think tank publishes Resources magazine to highlight its research and hosts a variety events, including a seminar series, policy leadership forums and webinars.
