BSCS Science Learning is a science education nonprofit with roots in the post-Sputnik era. BSCS was established in 1958 by a grant from the NSF to the education committee of the American Institute of Biological Sciences. Since its inception, the organization’s vision and work have remained grounded in research about what makes a difference in education, and a firm notion of what a high-quality science education could and should be. Today, BSCS continues to use and generate research to improve materials and services that promote the teaching and learning of science.
