The University of Guelph, founded in 1964, is a comprehensive public research university in Guelph, Ontario. The Canadian university is comprised of seven colleges that offer over 90 majors in 13 degree programs. The university also has a regional campus in Ridgetown, Ontario, and additional research stations.

Annually, the university enrolls 22,100 undergraduate and graduate students and employs 5,460 faculty and staff. The university is known for receiving the most health-related research funding than any other Canadian university without a medical school. It also boasts the highest proportions of life science expertise per capita than any other university in North America.

Our work with the University of Guelph includes a number of grants in support of developing standardized procedures for species identifications using DNA applications, eventually resulting in   bar-coding project to identify all animal species on the planet.
