The San Mateo Medical Center is a fully accredited public hospital and clinic system, serving a diverse and multi-ethnic population on the mid-peninsula of the San Francisco Bay Area. The medical center operates a 249-bed general medical and surgical hospital in San Mateo, California, and over 10 outpatient clinics throughout the county including a long-term care facility. The medical center’s mission is to “partner with patients to provide excellent care with compassion and respect.” As part of the San Mateo County Health System, the medical center serves the health care needs of its residents, with an emphasis on education and prevention.

The San Mateo Medical Center’s primary services include accessing health insurance coverage, pediatrics, primary care, long-term care, septic care center and a center for family violence intervention.
