Chartered in 1791, the University of Vermont and State Agricultural College is a public research university located in Burlington. Its academic program combines faculty-student relationships most commonly found in a small liberal arts college with the resources of a major research institution.
The university is home to almost 10,000 undergraduates, over 1,000 graduate students, 459 medical students and 1,364 full and part-time faculty across 10 colleges and schools. It offers 50 master's degree programs, 24 doctoral programs and an M.D. program.
