Foundation president, Harvey Fineberg, and chairman emeritus and co-founder, Gordon Moore, discuss the Statement of Founders’ Intent with staff.
Founded in 1967, the Stroud Water Research Center studies streams and rivers and the life that inhabits them. Its goal is to protect the health of fresh water ecosystems by informing decision-makers on best practices for water conservation and watershed stewardship and influencing water policy.
Center research occurs in streams, rivers and watersheds across the globe. The organization also maintains natural laboratory sites near White Clay Creek in Chester County, Pennsylvania, and the Maritz Biological Station in the Guanacaste Conservation Area of Costa Rica. Scientists share findings with a broad audience of teachers, students, policymakers and other stakeholders to increase awareness and impact decision-making. Through a combination of field and classroom instruction and curricula, the center’s educators use the watershed as a basis for science instruction and stewardship.
Thank you for sharing.
