Established in 1984, Pronaturaleza is a private national foundation dedicated to conserving the natural heritage of Peru, especially its biodiversity, by promoting sustainable use of renewable natural resources. The organization helps implement projects financed by international cooperation and national sources and also offers services in strategic partnership with companies.

The foundation’s work is divided into four areas: active participation in the effective management of protected areas and sites of high conservation value, enhancement of Peruvian biodiversity through economic initiatives based on sustainable natural resource management, promotion of environmental awareness and sustainable development in society and the Peruvian state, and promoting environmental responsibility in extractive industries and infrastructure.
