Foundation president, Harvey Fineberg, and chairman emeritus and co-founder, Gordon Moore, discuss the Statement of Founders’ Intent with staff.
Founded in 1973, the Association of Science-Technology Centers is a global professional membership organization for science centers, museums and related institutions focused on inspiring the study and appreciation of science and science education. The association has hundreds of members from 50 countries and supports their work through advocacy, professional development and partnership.
The organization’s annual conference brings together leaders from across the field, and its communities of practice and leadership development programs facilitate dialogue and provide continuing education. Advocacy efforts include policy briefs and legislative updates in addition to congressional testimony to represent the interests of members. The association also supports and houses the Center for Advancement of Informal Science Education, an online portal with resources to connect and support the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education community.
