The Carnegie Institute of Washington will use this grant to determine baseline forest conditions, selective logging as well as outright deforestation in Peru and enable Moore grantees and other organizations to monitor, map and report on these variables annually. The outcome is to ensure that forest monitoring by even the smallest NGO or government office in Peru can be done in a transparent and replicable way.
