Foundation president, Harvey Fineberg, and chairman emeritus and co-founder, Gordon Moore, discuss the Statement of Founders’ Intent with staff.
To provide support for investigator Dr. Alexandra Worden’s research into marine microbial population dynamics and carbon cycling in marine ecosystems. Outcomes for this grant include understanding photosynthetic capabilities and controls of picoeukaryotes Micromonas and Ostreococcus, enumeration and characterization of picoeukaryotes in the Sargasso Sea, annotation of the Micromonas pusilla genome, and targeted metagenomics of uncultured picoeukaryotes.
