Grant Name:

Nanoscale Probing of Thermodynamic and Quantum Phenomena in Correlated Oxide Synapses

  • Date Awarded:
    Jul 2023

  • Amount:
    $1,333,009

  • Term:
    60 months

  • Grant ID:
    GBMF12246

  • Funding Area:
    Science

To gain fundamental understanding of the mechanisms of correlated oxide artificial synapses at the nanoscale after an electrical pulse, and to achieve control over their thermodynamic and quantum properties. Artificially replicating this synaptic architecture and communication would be a critical step toward building computers that emulate brain-like performance, or neuromorphic computing.
