Foundation president, Harvey Fineberg, and chairman emeritus and co-founder, Gordon Moore, discuss the Statement of Founders’ Intent with staff.
Ecotrust Canada is using this grant to protect spawning habitat for wild Pacific salmon in Haida Gwaii—an archipelago located about 60 miles west of British Columbia. With Foundation support, Ecotrust Canada is working to create fundamental changes in the management of forest and marine resources within the archipelago. Outcomes for this grant include acquisition and deployment of the Haida GIS, identification of Haida Gwaii sustainable development opportunities, and a Haida Gwaii community fisheries development plan.
