Foundation president, Harvey Fineberg, and chairman emeritus and co-founder, Gordon Moore, discuss the Statement of Founders’ Intent with staff.
This grant will continue to support Ecotrust Canada's work with the Council of Haida Nations (CHN) to complete a comprehensive Land Plan and "roadmap" for the implementation of Ecosystem Based Management in the active forestry tenures remaining on the archipelago. Together, the Land Plan and EBM implementation road map will ensure that use of the region’s habitat is managed in a manner that will safeguard the productivity of key salmon systems. The outcome for this grant is that government-to-government negotiations for Haida Gwaii Land Use Vision are completed, protecting a significant portion of CHN’s traditional territory.
