Foundation president, Harvey Fineberg, and chairman emeritus and co-founder, Gordon Moore, discuss the Statement of Founders’ Intent with staff.
The Commercial Hook Fishermen's Association is using this grant to align economic incentives with conservation efforts in the Georges Bank Fixed Gear Sector for gillnet fishermen and to implement a video-based electronic monitoring system for bycatch and catch of groundfish and other species. Outcomes for this grant include verification of video-based electronic monitoring for hook & line gear, analysis of video-based electronic monitoring for gillnet and small-mesh gear, and implementation of and increased stakeholder awareness of Georges Bank dedicated access privilege (DAP) programs.
